ROPING RESIDENCE
The Roping Residence is a 4,600-square-foot home designed for a 5-acre parcel in Eagle, Idaho.
This property draws inspiration from Idaho's historic ranching heritage, blending traditional barn forms and vernacular materials with contemporary living spaces. The owners sought a residence that honors the region's agricultural past while providing modern comfort and functionality.
Sited thoughtfully around a large pond, the home captures expansive views of Bogus Basin and the Treasure Valley's rolling foothills. The design integrates the residence with its landscape, positioning living areas to embrace the water feature and panoramic mountain vistas, while allowing seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
The architecture features elemental forms and a material palette that nods to Idaho's ranching legacy—dark-stained wood siding, timber accents, and stone elements—combined with clean lines, generous glazing, and open-plan interiors for a grounded yet refined aesthetic.
Careful site planning respects the natural surroundings, incorporating native landscaping and open spaces that enhance the sense of place and connection to the Treasure Valley's foothills and skies.
